This unique expedition begins with your arrival in Marrakech, where our team will greet you and drive you to the charming village of Imlil, nestled in the foothills of the High Atlas Mountains. Over the course of five unforgettable days, you will experience the thrill of summiting Mount Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africa, and then immerse yourself in the stunning landscapes of the Sahara Desert, where you’ll ride camels across golden dunes and sleep under a star-filled sky.
Day 1: Marrakech – Imlil – Base Camp of Toubkal
Your adventure begins as we depart from Marrakech, leaving behind the bustling city to journey south toward the serene beauty of the Toubkal Massif. We’ll drive across the scenic Haouz Plain and ascend through the winding roads of the High Atlas Mountains, passing traditional amazigh villages clinging to the mountainsides. Upon reaching Imlil, we’ll meet our mountain guide and set off on a trek through the Mizane Valley, visiting the village of Aremd and the sacred shrine of Sidi Chamarouch. Our destination is the Toubkal Refuge, a welcoming base camp where we’ll spend the night, ready to tackle the summit the next day.
Day 2: Base Camp – Toubkal Summit – Imlil
Awaken early for the ascent of Jebel Toubkal (4167m), the crown jewel of the High Atlas. As we climb, the rugged terrain will challenge us, but the panoramic views from the summit will reward every step. From the top, gaze across the vast Moroccan landscape, from the Marrakesh Plain to the distant Sahara. After soaking in the breathtaking scenery, we’ll descend back to Imlil, where we’ll spend the night at a charming guesthouse, enjoying traditional Moroccan hospitality.
Day 3: Imlil –Marrakech- Dades Valley
After breakfast, we’ll depart Imlil early in the morning to Marrakech and drive through the stunning Tizi-n-Tichka mountain pass, heading toward the Dades Valley. Along the way, we’ll explore the famous Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site that has served as the backdrop for countless films. We’ll continue our journey through the picturesque landscape, arriving in Dades Gorge by late afternoon. Here, you can relax at your hotel.
Day 4: Dades Valley – Todra Gorge – Merzouga
Our journey continues as we drive to the Todra Gorge, a towering canyon with walls that rise up to 300 meters. After exploring the gorge and its surrounding palmeries, we’ll head deeper into the desert, arriving in Merzouga. Here, our adventure takes a new form as we mount camels and trek across the dunes of Erg Chebbi. As the sun sets, we’ll reach our Sahara Camp, where you’ll enjoy a traditional dinner under the stars and fall asleep to the sounds of the desert.
Day 5: Merzouga – Marrakech
Wake up early to witness the magical sunrise over the dunes before riding camels back to Merzouga. After breakfast and a refreshing shower, we’ll embark on the return journey to Marrakech, crossing the Atlas Mountains once more and stopping along the way to capture the beauty of Morocco in your memories. We’ll arrive back in Marrakech in the early evening, marking the end of an incredible adventure that you’ll cherish forever.
