On the first day, the French Alpine Club Refuge becomes our base camp before the final assault. Located at 3207 meters, this refuge is a sanctuary for adventurous souls, promising an authentic “Into the Wild” experience under the watchful eye of Jbel Toubkal.
The Conquest of the North African Giant:
Our second day is devoted to the ascent of Jbel Toubkal. At dawn, we begin the assault on this giant to embrace, from its 4167 meters, a spectacular sunrise. With 360° panoramas, the beauty of nature will take your breath away. This moment will be etched in your memory as the pinnacle of your adventure.
Expedition Summary:
Day 1: A dazzling traverse to the CAF Refuge, punctuated by indescribably beautiful landscapes, enriching encounters, and a lunch in the idyllic mountain scenery.
Day 2: The ascent of Toubkal, a challenge tackled together, crowned by a return to Imlil and a journey back to the city’s hustle and bustle, with hearts and minds filled with unforgettable memories.

Detailed Program of the Ascent of Mount Toubkal, 2-Day Adventure:
- Day 1: Saturday from the village of Imlil to CAF Refuge (3207m), 1503m elevation gain (10 km, 6 to 7 hours of walking)
We will leave Imlil early in the morning after breakfast at the inn. We will climb along the Ait Mizane valley, passing by the Kasbah of Toubkal and Aremd (1900m), a charismatic village known for its traditional architecture. We will take our time to appreciate the panoramic beauty of the Kasbah and the village. We will follow the trail along the eastern side of Azrou n’Tmadout to the shrine of Sidi Chamharouch (2350m). We will have a good lunch on the way to the refuge, a few kilometers beyond the shrine, enjoying the view of the river and waterfalls. After a relaxing break, our hike continues to the CAF Refuge (3207m). We will stop at the CAF Refuge for the night and have dinner.
- Day 2: CAF Refuge (3207m) – Ascent of Mount Toubkal (4167m) – Village of Imlil (1704m), 20 km, 12 to 13 hours of walking, Climb 960m elevation gain, Descent 2463m – return to Marrakech; arrival scheduled (7:30 PM/8:00 PM)
After breakfast, we will start our ascent as early as possible to contemplate the magnificent sunrise at the summit. We will follow the zigzag trail up to Tizi n’Toubkal (3940m), then turn left and follow the ridge to the summit. Once reached, we will contemplate magnificent landscapes in all directions: to the west, the peaks of Ouanoukrim (4083m) and Timzguida (4089m), to the south, the Tifnout valley, to the east, the Ourika and Tinzar valleys, to the north, the Aït Mizane valley. After a short photo session, we will take the same trail back down. The descent to the refuge should only take 2 to 3 hours.
We will have lunch at the Refuge to celebrate the achievement, then retrace our steps back to Imlil, have a little walk in the village, and return to Marrakech.

- Possibility of booking an individual mountain guide for beginners who want to climb at their own pace and have a better chance of succeeding in the ascent of Mount Toubkal (extra 1000 MAD)
